Cute shorts for the kids!
This is more of a up cycle on jeans than anything. Now I could have just taken my girls ripped up jeans and cut them off. But I know if my kids, the shorts would not last long.
So I took a few pairs of jeans that looked like this for example:
Now let me point out this little tool I am using under my iron. Its a Clover hem press guide. I can place my iron right on top of it and have correct measurements of my hems. I honestly wish I didn't put off buying myself one for so long. LOL It has made things easier.
Now after I stitched my bottom hem up so now raw edge would show or fray, I sewed the two short ends together to make a circle for each leg. Then attached them to each leg, followed by top stitching them.
My girls were super excite for there new shorts, since its getting so hot over here. And they love showing them off to friends.
If anyone has questions, I could make a more step by step process. If needed.

And took my rotary blade and ruler to cut the legs off as evenly as possible.
After that I measured the legs and added about half an inch for seam allowance. I also estimated how long I wanted the length and added an inch. So I could fold over the raw edge twice. To hide my raw edges.
