Love thy neighbor

Sometimes with doing the crafts that I do, I get to be able to reach out and share that work of love with others.

We have rented this house that we are in for about 6 or 7 years now. And with how the school is located, we drive our children to and from school. With that said we stop at our local gas station a lot lol. If you think about it we are passing it each way we go to and from school and hubby does on his way to work, also if I am going to a store.
I haven't really gotten to know the owners that well, due to me being socially awkward. Hubby is able to talk to any I swear. Well over time we have found out that they have been trying for a little one for so long. And now they are finally being blessed with a baby, and they found out a little over a month ago they are having a girl.
With that being said, hubby came home and asked me to make a simple baby quilt for them. I jumped right on it, once he asked.
The pattern that I used was, Speedy baby 2. http://quilttaffy.blogspot.com/2008/06/speedy-baby-2free-pattern.html
The top was cotton flannel, cotton batting, and the baking was kind of a fleece material. (All from my stash).  I used my new Juki to straight line stitch it around the boarders, to keep it more simple.
They were very excited and surprised to get a gift from someone in the neighborhood.
